High Performance Aeroplanes (HPA)
According to JAR-FCL 1*, prior
to any type rating, an approved theoretical course is required for High
Performance Aeroplanes (see below). The only exemption is a successfully
passed ATPL theoretical exam.
During our HPA course,
candidates obtain the necessary knowledge in 52 instructional hours.
Additionally, students are supported by our e-learning and information
platform. The course is completed with a written examination at
Horizon. A
course certificate is issued upon completion.

Part of the subjects 21-Airframes & Systems, Electrics, Powerplant, 32-Performance ME Aeroplanes, 40-Human Performance and Limitations, 50-Meteorology,
62-Radio Navigation (Basic Radar Principles), 81-Principles of Flight, are
instructed during the course.
