	The aircraft With its modern carbon composite airframe, twin jet fuel burning TAE Centurion 2.0 turbo-diesel engines and the fully integrated Garmin G1000 glass flight deck, the DA42 Twin Star is the undisputed technology leader in its class on a new level in economic and environmental performance. Compared to other light twins, fuel consumption is divided into half, while maintaining impressing performance and an outstanding low noise level.
	New generation glass flight deck The DA42 features the Garmin G1000 integrated glass flight deck as standard equipment. Combined with FADEC (Full Authority Digital Engine Control), the pilot's workload is significantly reduced. This contributes to enhanced safety during operation. Airline pilot trainees benefit from technologies also found at their future working place in the cockpit of an airliner or corporate jet.
	D-SIM-42 New Generation Simulator The training concept combines the aircraft with the D-SIM-42 Twin Star. All aircraft systems and aerodynamics are exactly simulated. The D-SIM-42 features an original Garmin G1000 glass flight deck. The outstanding RealView ® visual system completes the simulator and makes training an enjoyable experience. The D-SIM-42 is certified as FNPT II according to JAR-FSTD A. 40 hours of the training towards the instrument rating (IR) may be conducted in the simulator.
