The forward-looking course model
The internet facilitates theoretical instruction - but only, if it is
turned to good account.
Over the last four years, Horizon has developed a concept, which, in the
meantime, is regarded as the most advanced training model in theoretical
instruction for pilots.
During the distance learning phase, use is made of modern learning tools
for home-learning. Books, CDs and handouts are completed with CBT
(computer based training), question data banks, online documentation, and
discussion forums via internet. Tele Tutors supervise the students during
the entire distance learning phase.
The "Blended Learning" model also includes Presence Learning Seminars.
During classroom instruction, the knowledge level is consolidated and all
subjects reviewed. This unique mixture of books, electronic learning
tools, internet and classroom instruction represents the road to success:
Horizon graduates regularly achieve average results between 90 and 94 %.
Self-responsibility is perceived by the students with pleasure, because
the benefit of the course model is obvious: Learning can be done
every-where, any time, the learning pace is determined mainly by the
student, and the courses are cost-effective as well.
Horizon is the only Flight Academy in Switzerland and one of the very few
