Airbus A320 Engine Run up Course

This course is designed for individuals with at least a Part 66 B1 and/or B2 license who completed an Airbus A320 family B1 and/or B2 maintenance type training course. The course will impart the basics to perform safe and efficient engine run ups on the Airbus A320 Series. Beside the theoretical training the practical part will be performed in a Full Flight Simulator, to be able to train as well failure scenarios in a realistic environment.

Duration

The theoretical part of this course takes 1 training day. The practical part of this course takes 4 hours per group of 2 students.

Location

Unless otherwise specified, the course is provided at the facilities of Horizon Swiss Flight Academy in Kloten, Switzerland. Upon request, a course can be provided as well at the customers location. Acceptable training rooms and infrastructure must be provided by the customer for the theoretical part and the simulator training. For on-site training travel and accommodation expenses will be charged to the customer.

Course Objective

After completion of the Engine Run-Up Maintenance Course, the participant should be able to:

  • understand/explain the engine systems relevant to engine operations
  • start and operate the engines by following the procedures and restrictions specified in the corresponding approved technical documentation and to all relevant safety precautions
  • conduct typical system functional tests connected with engine run ups
  • determine the relevant performance requirements
  • conduct the appropriate troubleshooting in the event of a system failure

Additional Course Information

  • Participants
    A minimum of 2 participants are recommended. The practical modules will be conducted in groups of 2 students per simulator session.
  • Training Material
    Upon course start the students receive a hand out including all relevant information.
  • Course Language
    The course and all training material is in English language.
  • Examination
    Performance will be continuously monitored throughout the training. After successful completion a Certificate of Attendance will be issued.
